‘Nnumari is a Sicilian composite word which means “of the sea” and is the title that Pino Cuttaia, award winning chef from Licata, chose to give to the symposium that for the second time has gathered chefs and journalists, economists, fishermen, breeders, farmers, producers, artisans, entrepreneurs, artists and communicators in Sicily to reflect on the sustainability of the Mediterranean and to build replicable and shared models of social and environmental development.
At the base of ‘Nnumari is the idea that cuisine and food have the capability to connect people, nurturing the comparison between traditions, gestures, cultures.
Olitalia also participated at the event with Frienn, as a partner of the event but above all with the conviction that respect for the sea and environmental sustainability are two essential values. Not by chance Olitalia for over a year has been promoting the Plastic No More project, a concrete project to reduce the use of plastic by 30% by 2020: 677 tons of plastic less per year, bearing in mind the plastic consumption of 2017.
